Made in Italy at the second edition of JGT Dubai February 2023
From 12 to 14 February 2023, the second edition of JGT Dubai (Jewellery, Gem & Technology in Dubai), the “high impact” international exhibition of jewelry, precious stones and technology organized by Italian Exhibition Group Spa (IEG) and Informa Markets Jewellery, with DMCC (Dubai Multi Commodities Centre) and Dubai Gold and Jewellery Group (DGJG) as Official and Industry partners respectively, was held at the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC).
The B2B event saw the representation of the international gold and jewelry industry, in a stimulating and dynamic atmosphere, which was attended by 5093 unique visitors from 95 countries and regions in the world (thus determining an increase in the participation of the 20% compared to the previous edition). We were proud to see how Italian companies played a central role in this scenario, strongly demonstrating their position of international leadership and the great appreciation of Made in Italy excellence in the UAE market. Italy demonstrated its preeminence not only in terms of precious stones and jewelry, but also in terms of technological innovation, which had great importance thanks to Italian players present on the international market.
JGT Dubai has allowed in particular to observe the taste and demand of the UAE market from a stylistic and cultural point of view. Original and exuberant jewels are highly appreciated, especially in yellow gold, with animalier motifs and inspired by natural or geometric shapes, and electroforming and diamond cutting are some of the most requested techniques.
“The energy was positive on the show floor, and the opportunities to do business were incredible. Participants came away with renewed energy and purpose for the year ahead,” said David Bondi, Senior Vice President of Informa Markets in Asia.
“The market appreciation for the second edition already consolidates the role of IEG and IM’s joint initiative as a central sourcing event for the industry, focused on development, technology, and innovation,” said Corrado Peraboni, Chief Executive Officer of Italian Exhibition Group.
