Alessandra Camilla Mustacchi is the young creative behind the brand Alessandra Camilla Milano. Thanks to the skills she acquired during her studies in the jewelry sector, she gave birth to a successful business and in 2021 she was selected as one of the Forbes Under 30 talents. Sustainability, innovation, reliability: these are the core strengths of the brand.

How was your passion for jewelry born and what was your training path?

Since I was a child, I have always had a streak of creativity. My desire has always been to focus on my art and turn it into my job one day. After high school, I studied Fashion Business at the Istituto Marangoni in Milan. One of the most significant steps in my path was my internship in New York at an advertising agency that represented big jewelry names such as Buccellati and Mikimoto. There, driven by a growing interest in jewelry, I realized that what I thought was just a natural propensity for beauty, luxury and jewelry was instead a much deeper passion. I was so fascinated by the world of jewelry that I wanted to know every aspect of it, to the point that it became almost an obsession for me. So, I decided to specialise in Goldsmithing and Gemology at the Gemological Institute of America, where I also deepened my knowledge of pearls. I won several awards, such as the “GIA Jewelry Design Award”. After working for companies such as Bulgari and Sotheby’s, I decided to create my own brand.

You are very conscious of the importance of sustainability, both from the point of view of respect for the environment and from the point of view of ethics. How do you concretely commit to guaranteeing these values to your customers?

I am active on several fronts to guarantee maximum transparency and sustainability for my clientele. For sure, the choice of materials for my jewels and the choice of my collaborators play the main role. I only rely on suppliers that I completely trust, who operate with respect for the environment and human rights. For example, we buy our gold from a historic Italian company that is a member of the Responsible Jewelry Council (RJC), and all the diamonds we use are in compliance with the Kimberly Process, an organization committed to reducing the flow of diamonds used to finance wars and violence.

In 2021 you were selected by Forbes as one of the Under 30 talents. What do you consider to be the strengths that have made you a success story today?

Without a doubt one of my strengths is sustainability. In addition, my brand has an innovative character. For example, my Diamond Bar, an original and engaging platform for making engagement rings and rings for important occasions, is very successful. It is an online configurator, where you can select the various elements of the ring, from the stone to the cut and carat, as if they were cocktail ingredients. More than 500 combinations are available on the platform. Diamond Bar allows you to receive a quote and a live image of the final piece of jewelry. Once my clients have chosen the design they want to realise, I guide them through the choice of the stone.

What do your creations want to communicate?

My jewels reflect the expertise and the deep knowledge of the subject that I acquired during my studies. Therefore, they communicate a message of trust and reliability. In addition, my jewels allow those who wear them to feel at ease and satisfied from an aesthetic point of view at the same time.

What is the most important market for your brand?

I aim at reaching a wide and international target. At the moment, the main market is Italy, but I would like to expand more and more abroad, starting with Europe.

What is your wish for the future?

I would like my brand to grow more and more and always remain authentic. I would like to be personally involved and to continue to have a one-to-one relationship with my customers, guiding them in their jewelry purchases and sharing my experience and expertise with them. For me, the consultancy aspect will always be fundamental.
