In 2017, Guia Bonvicini is in art high school and it is here that her dream begins, Bon.Vi Gioielli. Essentiality, uniqueness and authenticity: these are the values of the brand, inspired by nature, which wants to bring joy into the life of those who will wear this world. The young entrepreneur represents today a success story in Italy and beyond.
How did your passion for jewelry begin?
Accessories have always fascinated me, a small detail that can make a big difference. As a child, I loved trying on my mom’s jewelry and spent summer days with my sister making bracelets and necklaces with colorful beads. Later, as a teenager, I started creating rosary chains using stones and beads I found in vintage markets and shops. It became my favorite pastime, a way to unwind and disconnect from everything.
When was your brand born, and why did you decide to embark on this journey?
Bon.Vi Gioielli was born in 2017 during my time at art high school. When I started creating jewelry as a hobby, I realized there weren’t many brands offering good-quality pieces at affordable prices for young people. I wanted to create something that could represent each of us, something versatile and perfect for everyday life. With a lot of enthusiasm and spontaneity, I launched Bon.Vi Gioielli on Instagram.
What educational path did you follow to develop the skills needed for your work?
I’ve always been a creative person with a strong passion for art, which led me to attend Brera Art High School in Milan, the city where I grew up. During those years, I focused on plants as an artistic inspiration, studying their shapes, patterns, and colors. This exploration eventually inspired Bon.Vi. The power of social media also fascinated me, so I pursued a degree in Communication and Society at the Catholic University of Milan and later completed a Master’s in Media and Communication Management at Politecnico. The theoretical studies helped me build the brand and convey its values and creations in the best possible way. As for the technical skills required to make jewelry, I learned directly in the field with the help of my suppliers — never be afraid to ask!
What is your mission and the values of your brand?
The brand’s values draw inspiration from what I see as the most authentic and intimate aspects of nature: simplicity, uniqueness, and genuineness. My mission is to translate these values into jewelry that accompanies people in their daily lives. Each piece aims to bring lightness to people’s lives, helping them feel at ease and enhancing their individuality.
What have been the biggest challenges for your brand?
One significant challenge has been sourcing high-quality materials and finding Italian producers — a search that never really ends. Another challenge was developing a solid plan to bring all the ideas in my head to life.
What advice would you give to a young person wanting to pursue this path?
Don’t be afraid to make mistakes; it’s part of the journey and a great opportunity to grow. It’s essential to experiment, have fun, and learn what resonates with your community. From the start, clearly define your brand’s goals and keep them in mind. It’s easy to get caught up in day-to-day tasks and lose sight of the bigger picture, but staying focused on what you truly want to achieve is crucial. These may sound like simple ideas, but understanding them deeply changed the way I work and allowed me to grow in a meaningful way.
What do you dream for the future?
In the near future, I envision opening a boutique in Milan — not just a shop but a space for young creatives and anyone looking for a welcoming place. We’re working on it!
