The sixth edition of GemGenève (11-14 May 2023) has just ended with great results. In this international atmosphere of enhancement of art and talent, the Donna Jewel x GemGenève project received very positive feedback, and its booth inside the show received hundreds of visits from professionals and enthusiasts from more than 30 countries around the world.
Donna Jewel x GemGenève was the first curatorial project by Laura Inghirami and Donna Jewel, in collaboration with GemGenève. The idea arose from a desire to give voice to creativity, culture, and self-expression through the art of jewelry. Under the Creative Direction of talent hunter Laura Inghirami, the students from the High Technician for the Production of High Quality Made in Italy goldsmith products – ITS class II of the Galdus School of Milano (academic year 2022/23) celebrated the excellence of “Made in Italy” in GemGenève, as they represented the future of Italian art. The students presented their pieces of jewelry inspired by the creative brief proposed by Laura Inghirami: “No limits: time for creativity”. They were called upon to create a jewel by daring and experimenting, going beyond any scheme, and expressing their art in absolute freedom, using any materials, forms, and designs they can imagine.
During the days of the show, visitors to the Donna Jewel x GemGenève booth were invited to vote for their favorite jewel among the jewels presented by the students. Hundreds of professionals from more than 30 countries around the world, including the USA, Brazil, France, and Switzerland, enthusiastically participated in the vote. On May 13, the winner, young student Allan Paul Salazar, was announced with his jewel Eleutheromania.
